We’re turning the 327 build into a 350 with a forged crank and fresh internals — and just before race day, it’s finally running. After fighting motor mounts, headers, and a radiator that didn’t fit, the engine comes to life… for about ten seconds.

Next time, we’ll chase down the timing and vacuum leaks and get ready for cam break-in and tuning before the race.

So we figured out how to install cam bearings, then dropped the engine and ruined the fresh set. At least I don’t have to worry about my sketchy chamfer job anymore. Next time, we’ll button up the bottom end and see if this thing can actually move forward.

We lay down some smooth paint with the D1 Drizzle, until we found out bugs like the D1 Drizzle just as much as we do — maybe even more.

We fired up the D1 Drizzle spray gun for the first time on a Chevy Malibu, laying down Omni epoxy primer, base coat, and clear. The gun itself worked surprisingly well, nice spray pattern and smooth coverage. The clear coat though? Total chaos. Turns out every bug in the county got an invite. They swarmed the fresh paint like it was an all-you-can-eat buffet and left their mark everywhere.

That’s the reality of a garage paint job — not professional, just us figuring it out, laughing at the mistakes, and rolling with whatever happens.

Also giving a quick update on the Pontiac Trans Am build for the AHRA No Name Nationals — the engine is still in pieces, time’s slipping away, and we’re not sure if it’ll make the race. But that’s part of the fun: watching if we can actually pull it off in time.
